Hi there! We’re Jennifer and Tina LeGarde, the proud (and slightly dog-obsessed) owners of Big Daddy Doggie Daycare. For us, this place isn’t just a business — it’s a dream come true and a passion project inspired by the dogs who’ve changed our lives. Our story really starts with a little dog named Piper. We met her thanks to Billy Bowdridge, the original owner of Big Daddy Doggie Daycare. Billy built this daycare on kindness and compassion, and he’s always had a soft spot for dogs who need a second chance. During one of our first chats, he told us about a tiny Maltese-Poodle mix who had been found abandoned in a park trash can. The moment we saw her, we knew — she was meant to be ours. We brought Piper home to join our two other rescue pups, Bailey and Nora. Let’s just say their first introduction wasn’t exactly love at first sight — but after a few cautious sniffs and shared treats, they decided to make it work. Soon enough, the trio found their rhythm, and Piper officially became the newest member of our pack. Earlier on the day of taking Piper home, while we were visiting the daycare with our pack, Billy mentioned he was thinking about selling the business. Tina and I exchanged that look — the one that says, “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” That conversation sparked an idea that quickly grew into our next big adventure: carrying forward the legacy of Big Daddy Doggie Daycare. Taking the leap felt right — and it only made sense to make Piper our official mascot. She may be small, but she’s got big dog energy, and she reminds us every day why we do what we do. At Big Daddy Doggie Daycare, our mission is simple: to care for your pups the same way we care for Bailey, Nora, and Piper. We know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s hands, and we don’t take that lightly. Around here, every wag, woof, and wet nose is treated like family.
